Stay Healthy in an apple shape, all in green

Here are some reminders to follow if your scholar is sick. Please do not send them to school sick.

Any student who has vomited must stay home for 24 hours or one full school day. Any student with a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher must stay home for 24 hours or one full school day. Do not send students to school if they are taking medicine to treat their fever. Students must be picked up if any of these symptoms happen at school.

Prevention is Key:

  • Wash your hands well after using the toilet and before eating. Hand sanitizer does not work as well as washing your hands to stop the stomach bug.

Treatment:

  • Stay home until you feel better. Students must be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to school or one full school day.

  • Drink clear liquids like water, Gatorade, or diluted apple juice to stay hydrated.

  • As you feel better, you can start eating bland foods like crackers, bananas, rice, and light soups.

Duration:

  • Symptoms usually last for less than two weeks. But they can last up to two weeks in serious cases.

  • People with weak immune systems may have a harder time fighting off the virus.

Take care of yourself. Remember to wash your hands often and get enough rest to avoid spreading the illness!
