Greetings Ram Families!
We are approaching the end of the third nine weeks of this school year, and this is the time when we must motivate our SCHOLARS the most. Please partner with us in encouraging them to continue demonstrating their best in learning and in showing positive school behaviors.
As we near the end of the term, scholars in grades K-5 will be taking a series of assessments. This information is crucial as it helps us plan instruction and support for the next school year. Please remind your child about the importance of doing their best on these assessments and using the strategies they’ve learned from their teachers. It is also important for them to believe that with hard work and focus, they can achieve success.
Many of our students feel uncertain when taking an assessment. In speaking with students, many have admitted to rushing through a test or giving up on sections that involve heavy reading or require persistence.
To help, here are some strategies we use at school that you can remind your child of the day before any upcoming test:
Set a mental goal for what you want to achieve.
Stay calm—take slow, deep breaths. Count. Focus on a positive thought or memory.
Use positive affirmations: “I can achieve. I am smart. I will do my best.”
Use what you know—refer to your notes, strategies, and previous learning.
Thank you for your continued support!
